OREGON/MADISON/MONONA/STOUGHTON-Terri Schmidt, age 53, of Monona, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016. She was born on Oct. 8, 1962, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the daughter of Arlen and Mary Edmundson. She married Keven Schmidt on June 18, 1994, on the Mississippi. Terri was raised in Marinette. As a single parent, she put herself through college at UW-Madison. She won a national contest for designing kitchen of the year. Terri loved to dance and was known as "Big Cat" by her friends. She put everyone else first, making them feel special and important. She was thankful of her wonderful family and would often say to her loved ones, "We have the best family!" Terri is survived by her parents; husband of 22 years, Keven; children, Sara Alswager, Chris (Holley) Schmidt and Jerry Schmidt; dog, Dreamer; siblings, Alan (Julie) Edmundson, Dawn (Tom) Queen, Dean (Cheryl) Edmundson, and Mali (Jason) Wilhelm;parents-in-law, Judi (Orville Arnold) Schmidt-Arnold; siblings-in-law, Philene Soppa, Terry Mueller, Wendy (Bill) Magee and Jack (Shantel) Schmidt; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Shawn Edmundson; and sister-in-law, Cheri Mueller. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Words can't express how deeply Terri will be missed. A beautiful person inside and out with such wit and warmth. Hardly a day went by that we didn't share a laugh about something. I've been so lucky to work with Terri and Keven for almost twenty years, and now with Sara, Jerry and Chris. My heart aches for them. Terri truly was a Super Woman ! She worked so hard, but always made time for her family, friends and fun. Luv ya, Ter.

Terri was one of the most delightful people I’ve known. She had a heart of gold and a vibrant personality. Her ability to take the reigns with an incredible amount of energy and drive was an inspiration to me in our working relationship. The “life of the party”, Terri always had something funny to say.
