Margaret E. Maloney

MONONA/SUN PRAIRIE- Margaret E. Maloney, age 100, of Monona and Sun Prairie, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. She was born on June 3, 1915, on the family farm in Arena, the daughter of Ralph W. and Martha A. (Schuldt) Harrop. She married James Robert "Bob" Maloney in Milwaukee. Margaret was a long time member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, golfing, and fishing. Margaret even danced at her 100th birthday party at the East Side Club last year. The couple traveled to Hayward every year for their own friendly competitive fishing contest with the person catching the biggest fish having to row the boat which was usually Margaret (Bob's idea was that while she rowed, he could catch one bigger). Margaret is survived by her brother, Donald (Veronica) of Middleton; sister, Marion Majors (John Brode) of Portage; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1966; sister, Dorothy (David) James; and brother-in-law, Rogers Ralph Majors. Funeral services will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016, with Father Michael Radowicz presiding. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
