Obituary

MADISON-Mary (Tennyson) MacDonald, age 64, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on June 27, 1951, in Madison, the daughter of Harold and Elizabeth (Hausladen) Tennyson and her step father Clarence Plachetka. Mary was in the last graduating class of Central High School, class of 1969. She retired from St. Mary Hospital after 45 years of employment and continued close friendships with her co-workers. Mary enjoyed traveling to places like Las Vegas and Puerto Rico. She liked trips to the casino and spending time with her many friends at the Rustic Tavern. Mary enjoyed holidays with her family and making spaghetti dinners for her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Tina MacDonald; grandchildren, Nicole and Tim MacDonald; brother, JT (Debbie) Tennyson; many cousins, including special cousin, Anne (Ken) Ablajovich; and nieces, nephews and many friends. Mary was preceded in death by a son, Paul MacDonald Jr.; former husband, Paul MacDonald Sr.; special friend, Dennis Pippen; parents; step-father; and nephew, Joey Tennyson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at THE GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC PARISH at the ST. JAMES CHURCH, 1128 St. James Ct., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Mary's family would like to thank the Madison Police Department, the responding EMT and the doctors and staff at St. Mary's E.R. for their incredible effort and perseverance. So glad I got to see Mary a couple of months ago. Hadn't seen her for some time. She was so happy; having her grandchildren over for dinner that night. We talked of getting together for a lunch but it never got to happen. I'll meet you up there, eventually, Mary, and we'll have that lunch. Love you and will miss you forever. Joanie

I was lucky enough to work with Mary on 2SW. She was the living example of kindness, friendliness, and hard working. The days when Mary worked were the best.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers I am truly sorry not to be present at the celebration of Mary's life. She had a smile that warmed the room and she wore it from her childhood forward.
