David J. Wall

MADISON – David J. Wall, age 58, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, after a courageous battle with a chronic lung disease. He was born on June 23, 1957, in Madison, the son of Patrick and Donna (Bailey) Wall. David graduated from La Follette High School in 1975, then went to work with his father and brother (Bob) at Wall Oil Company retiring early due to health issues. He loved music, playing bass guitar and drums, and fishing at the family cottage in Harshaw, Wis., achieving his dream of catching a Muskie. David was an avid Packers and Badgers fan who enjoyed watching last Sunday night's tournament game. He was especially looking forward to last Friday night's game with Notre Dame. David also enjoyed going to concerts with his son, the last one being the Yes concert. David is survived by his son, Chase; his mom, Donna (Skip) Peterson; two brothers, Steven (Marjorie) Wall and their children, Jeremy and Justin Wall, and Bob (Julie) Wall and their children, Liz (Tom) Baehnk and Katie Wall; and Chase's mother and friend, Shelley Boyes. He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Arnold and Margaret Bailey; paternal grandparents, Harold and Ione Wall; and close friends, Ron Van Haren and Tom Wood. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, with the Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. David appreciated the help from Heartland Hospice for making it possible for him to get home.
