Sandy, Cass, Joe,
I so sorry to hear about your mother passing, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Life can be funny, I had not see or spoken to Pat in probably 35 years, yet this past January, I was in Wisconsin for a month and stopped by and visited with her three times. The first time I walked in, all I said was "You know me, you just haven't seen me in a long time" She paused for maybe five seconds and said "Russ Newton". I knew then she was blessed to have reached an advance age with her intellect intact. Amazing. We had a great conversation then, and on the subsequent visits. I am so glad we were able to touch base one last time, she was a great lady. We will all miss her.
Russ.

Cassie, Sandy, Joe and families, my sincerest condolences to you. I remember spending many fun times in the McCance home with Cassie and several other childhood friends. Your Mom was always so welcoming and with a smile on her face. She and my Mom would play cards together and, of course, they spent many hours in the kitchen at Lake Edge helping with coffee hour, or serving cake, coffee and meals for various luncheons and dinners. Your Mom was a terrific woman, and her graciousness, sense of humor, intellect and loving nature shines through in her children. May the many memories and stories you share over the next few days bring you peace.

Cassie, and all Pat's family. I returned home to Madison yesterday to see my brother, Bob, and I saw that your mother passed. I read the paper too late in the day or I would have attended the funeral because I have a lot of respect for her and I am sorry I didn't attend. Pat and my mother passed many an hour playing euchre and I had the pleasure of playing euchre with her as well during the tournaments at Frog's Log, VFW, and Walbridge Avenue. She was a wonderful friend to my mother and when my mother had to move from Walbridge to assisted living, Pat and I had a heart-to-heart talk. She was compassionate, loving, loyal, confidante and friend to my mother for many years. I have thought of her often in the last two years but didn't know where she went when she moved from Walbridge. Pat was a class act. My sincere condolences for your loss. Linda Buskager Smith, Arizona
