MIDDLETON- Paul M. Stadler, age 59, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at home, surrounded by his wife and daughter. He was born on Nov. 25, 1956, the son of John and Donna Stadler. Paul was the second son of four children. He grew up in Eau Claire. Paul found great joy in reconnecting with early childhood friends during his year and a half illness preceding his death. Paul attended UW-Eau Claire and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. There, he met a nursing student who later became his wife, Karla (Ludvigson). Paul's career was diverse. He was a stock broker at EF Hutton, a manager at the Banking House of Alloeuz, and Number One Wholesaler at Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL). Paul became Vice President of Sales and Marketing at AAL, then President of Woodmen Financial Services in Omaha, Neb. His current employer was National Mutual Benefit, where he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He was proud to win various awards for his marketing ideas over his career. Paul traveled extensively for work and saw many parts of the U.S. His hobbies included photography, snowmobiling, fishing and maintenance around his cottage near Lake Wisconsin. In 1997, Paul and Karla were blessed to welcome into the world their daughter, Arielle. As a parent, Paul was extremely proud of "his little girl". Paul is survived by his wife, Karla; daughter, Arielle, age 18; mother, Donna (Mittermiller); siblings, Julie Stadler, Steve (Nancy) Stadler, and Dan Stadler; sister-in-law, Jill Sikora; nieces and nephews, John Stadler, Samantha (Nate) Bergman, Mason Stadler, Megan (Mark) Wilhelm and their son Preston, and Leslie Stadler. He was preceded in death by his father, John Stadler; and several close friends. Paul's family would like to express appreciation to UW Health Carbone Cancer Center and Agrace HospiceCare for the care they provided. The family was extremely blessed to have had tremendous support from various family, friends, and neighbors, especially Julie Stadler, the McNerney family, Herb family, Sandy Masacchio, as well as many neighbors of Prairie Home Estates. The employees of National Mutual Benefit, as well as UW Health Quality Improvement department were tremendous support, as were friends from Green Bay, Menasha, and Omaha. I met Paul in the 7th grade and became friends from that point on. I had a chance to talk with Paul over the phone a few weeks back when another dear friend Dave Flesberg was visiting Paul at his home. He sounded so good and positive and we share some old time fun stories from the past. Paul was a great guy and was liked and loved by many, he truly will be missed! My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and daughter and the rest of his family. Your friend always, Kevin Olson

I met Paul as a 7th grader at Central Junior high in Eau Claire! He was warm and funny and had a signature smile. We were split up when the new Junior High opened but Paul was always with us, his old friends from the south side of town. I remember during my days at UW-Eau Claire, Paul returned from Omaha driving a brand new MG convertible and slipped into his new job as the manager of the Ramada Inn in Eau Claire. Wow, was I impressed. I continued to be impressed with Paul as he grew into the experiences of his life. Congratulations to you Paul on the big life you lived and the legacy that you have left! Cheers! Dave Graf

Feeling happy that I was able to chat with Paul and his sweet wife at the high school class reunion this past summer. Feeling sad that such a wonderful guy, who made so many people happy in his lifetime, has left us too soon. Sincere sympathies to his family and friends.

I've known Paul since we were kids, hanging out under the Water St bridge, having fries after school at the YMCA, dances---we had so much fun together. He introduced me to my first husband, and I was so hoping to some day meet Karla. I am just kind of 'numb' and my send my deepest condolences to Karla, Arielle, and his loved ones. Heaven is rejoicing---he is home! God bless the family.....

I've known Paul since our grade school days in Eau Claire. Always smiling and always laughing or making other people laugh. We used to have a lot of "touch" football games out at Sherman Creek school. Gary Weaver, Eric Jentlie, Mark Faanes, Mark Demoe and a whole cast of others. These games would go on for hours and most of the time we were on the ground laughing, mostly because of Paul. Central Junior high was a blast with him as were the high school years at North. I am extremely grateful that we were able to reconnect over FB the past year and a half. Such a tragic loss for all of us. My sincerest sympathies to his family and all of his friends. Until we meet again....Hilmo
