MADISON- Michael G. "Wienie" Kennedy, age 56, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on June 9, 1959 in Sauk City, the son of Joseph and Joan (Ladbrook) Kennedy. Mike was a graduate of Beloit Catholic High School and played on the WISAA State Champion Basketball team. He was the 1st recipient of the American Red Cross Hero of a Lifetime Award. Mike was noted for his New Orleans jambalya, as he liked to cook, especially for friends during the champion NCAA games. Mike is survived by his sister, Shannon Kennedy; a brother, Kerry Kennedy; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
