It was always great walking through the door and seeing Val working. She was always smiling, laughing, and generally brightening the day of anyone who encountered her. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. My condolences to her friends and family.

Val,
The night we met plays over and over again in my mind. We were watching TV at the Wisco, making fun of the commercials, and everything that came on. Maybe she's born with it.... maybe its (inappropriate completely made up word removed) * quickly became our new saying. You were beautiful, not just you, but everything around you, the air charged with excitement, sparks flew every time you smiled. At the end of the night you gave me your number and you goof, you scribbled it down wrong, and the guy I texted for a week, finally broke the news that I got the wrong number, but I stayed persistent, and dialed every combination I could think of for days, just to reach you. And now more than ever, I am so happy I persisted. Our first night together we drove around and listened to one song on repeat everywhere we went. As loud as we could singing all the way. "when the stars have aligned girl, then you'll be mine, please let me touch that bootay" You'd send me your work signs, with quirky little messages. Hell you even played video games. There were very few things that you weren't amazing at. The way children would light up to see your face. When I was sick you helped take care of me. The days grew into weeks and I saw you had been followed by a storm. I did my best to give you shelter. We found solace in each other. We spent every day talking, laughing and sharing our frustrations When you needed a place to live, I set my feeling aside so I could offer you a home and stability, a peaceful nights sleep, a comforting friendship in place of the love we had grown. And today, frustrated with tears in my eyes, I want to call it all into question, I want to scream but I'll never have another answer. I keep hoping its some elaborate ruse to get me to tell you how much I love you! Though our time may have been short, I will keep you forever in my heart, and eternal life shall be yours through the stories told in my family for many generations. I wish, I would have said more, but I could never had said enough. You're touching bootays in heaven now, and someday I'll see you there, with your beautiful smile. May your soul finally be free, my friend, my hero, and my love.
