Obituary
OREGON- Gail Lynn Long, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016. My mother would help anyone in any situation. She was far from judgmental. If she couldn't physically help, she would at the very least hear you out and make sure there's a smile on your face, and if not a smile, then she would sit down and cry with you. If she knew she was right about something or if you were absolutely wrong, she would be sure to let you know. She wasn't shy when it came to defending herself. When it came to my mother and father's relationship, they both played very different rolls with me while growing up. My mom was like the head coach of parenting, she'd be sure to put my dad or myself in line if she needed too. My dad was kind of like the "good cop", as in "good cop, bad cop", but he always brought to the table what he needed too. I couldn't ask to have been raised any other way, they did perfect. I know that I meant the world to her, and I know that she was super proud of me and who I have become, because when I see people she worked with, they all tell me how much she talked about me, and it doesn't stop with her work, anywhere I go people say the same if they knew her. She loved to watch scary shows and movies all the time, and she also loved to spend time with her dog, Hershey and her cats, Stretch and Rae. She was also very dedicated to her job, she loved to help people. She started in 2001 at Skaalen Home, Stoughton, which means she worked there for almost 15 years. I know she loved the residents and vice versa because she would always talk about them and her days. My mom was a beautiful person, physically and mentally. She could light up a room or a household with her smiles, laughter and happiness. I know that she would do ANYTHING for family. She may not have had a lot of free time, but she would have risked it all for anyone in our family. I know she loved my father dearly and he did the same, even though some people didn't see it. I believe they passed away so near each other because they couldn't be without each other. Also, because they knew they raised a tough kid. I know they are happy together and will always be with us. Mom, you will be dearly missed by everyone, especially, your mom and dad, and me.
