Obituary
MIDDLETON/ASHEVILLE, N.C.-Russell W. Gasser, age 95, formerly of Middleton/Madison, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at a health care center in Asheville, N.C. He was married for 66 years to Bernadine M. Gasner who preceded him in death in 2008. He served in the United States Army Air Corps. during WWII. Russell was a master plumber in the Madison area for over 50 years, a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and was a 32nd degree mason. He enjoyed woodworking and volunteered at the VAMC in Madison. Russell is survived by his daughter, Judith (Doug) Scott of Asheville, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Ramona Gasser of Middleton; a brother, Wilfred (Joyce) Gasser, of Plain; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, Bernardine he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Gasser. Funeral services will be held at ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 6101 University Ave., Madison at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Coventry Village, 7707 N.
