Christopher Jeffrey Schipper

MADISON-Christopher Jeffrey Schipper, age 46, of Madison, left us all too soon on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016. He was born on July 11, 1969, the son of Roy Jeffrey Schipper and Claudia Jean (Flick) Schipper. Chris graduated from LaFollette High School with the class of 1987. Following high school he served in the U.S. Army. Upon his return, he attended UW-Madison where he performed with the UW Marching Band. Chris worked in retail as a sales manager, where he was a respected leader and many of his employees considered him a friend. He was a good hearted person and had a wonderful way of making people feel good about themselves. Chris was hardworking and put in many long hours to provide for his family. He cherished the time he spent with his boys, cooking, watching movies, camping and enjoying the beauty of Madison's lakes and museums. Chris is survived by his parents; two sons, Jacob (15) and Joseph (14) Schipper and their mother, Rhonda Schipper; brother, Jon (Jessica) Schipper and their children, Sam (7) and Max (5) of Waunakee; uncles, Charles W. (Janet) Flick and Danny (Mary) VanMinnen; aunts, Carmen (Scott) Bowers, Laura (Curt) Martinson; Dina VanMinnen and Marlena Novachiek; and many other loving family and friends. A Celebration of Chris' Life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
