Obituary
MADISON – Lavone Rupert Dyer, age 88, passed on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 at Agrace HospiceCare with his loving family by his side. He was born on Dec. 22, 1927 in rural Blue River, the son of Ray and Cora (Dalton) Dyer. Lavone graduated from Blue River High School in 1945. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Bremerton, Wash., decommissioning aircraft carriers. Lavone then worked as a welder at the Wisconsin Foundry and Machine Company. Lavone married Alice Sharp on Nov. 10, 1956. His hobbies included woodworking, traveling and camping. He enjoyed RV rally trips and camping at Pine Lake Campground with family and friends. Lavone is survived by his beautiful wife of 59 years, Alice; daughter, Kathy (Chris) Korinek of Grafton; four grandchildren, Sarah (Phill) Brodnick, Tim Korinek, Erik Dahl, and Hans Dahl; great grandsons, Fox and Oliver Brodnick; sisters, Martha Zintz, Arlene (Larry) Turnipseed and Louella Zintz; and brother, Bernard Dyer. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debra Dahl in 2003; sister, Dorrine Miller; and brothers, Milford, Melvin and Byron. Funeral Services will be held at MONONA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 606 Nichols Rd., Monona, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Burial will be held at Dayton Corners Cemetery, Richland Center. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made to Monona United Methodist Church and Pine Lake Camp, Westfield.
