Sierra Michelle Skarda
March 03, 1999 - January 26, 2016
Obituary
LODI-Sierra Michelle Skarda tragically passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the very young age of 16. Sierra is the beautiful daughter of Mike and Jami, born March 3, 1999. Sierra, our Pee-wee, is expressively beautiful in many ways; from her contagious smile and yes even her eyes smiled. Her laughter lights up an entire room along with her uplifting spirits that continues to spread positivity towards others. Sierra is also easygoing, loving and caring in nature. It just came naturally for her. Sierra had a love for life and she's a girl that everyone wants to be around. She has made numerous friends due to her personality. Sierra's most cherished things are spending time with her family and her four legged brother Chevy; whether it's four-wheeling, hunting, attending Brewer games, going to concerts or her two favorites, being both a mommy's girl and a daddy's girl. This girl also loves her country music, turn up the station and she will sing every word to whatever song is playing. She loves the music so much that she got mom and dad on board with it and with even more concerts to attend together. Shopping, that girl could shop! With her fine chicken raising skills, she had a stash to do it with. That was a must if she had some downtime. Sierra was a junior at Lodi High School. She played on the high school tennis team but her true passion was curling. Sierra was on the high school varsity team for the last two years. She inspired others with this sport, the biggest inspiration was her dad. After 20 years of being off the ice, she got him back out there with her, even coaching the girls team. She recently volunteered at the Lodi Good Samaritan Society; where she enjoyed the work and the people she got to meet and help. She was intending to take CNA classes at the end of the year with hopes of furthering her education to become an RN. Sierra was always active, and enjoyed many sports and activities. She had picked up skiing as another activity, and was working towards snowboarding and again got mom and dad into it also. She always had a great time with all of her friends, going out for a bite to eat, see a movie, skiing, more shopping and just hanging being girls. Sierra is survived by her parents, Mike and Jami; a sister, Shania; Grandmother, Sue Aguilar;Grandparents, Randy and Kathy Skarda; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends she has made through her short journey here with us, including special friend Cody. A Celebration of Life will be held at POKEY'S SMOKE ON THE WATER, N1430 Hwy 113, Lodi, at 4 p.m., on Saturday, February 6, 2016 with Pastor Mitch Falk officiating, followed by a balloon release and food. Feel free to bring a dish to pass. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made in Sierra's name to the Lodi Curling Club to support the Lodi High School curling. Please send to W10794 Cty Rd J, Lodi 53555 C/O Sierra Skarda. Special thanks to the first responders who were on the scene to help Sierra. Another special thanks to the entire team at the UW Children's Hospital for working so hard and diligently doing everything possible to try to save our baby girl. Our sweet beautiful baby girl. You're smile is contagious and so beautiful. Your bright blue eyes always light up my world. You're dad and I are so proud of the young lady that you have become. You're so bubbly and full of life. Nothing will ever take that away from you. Our heart aches so much for you. We would give anything to be able bring you back home to us so we can hold you once again.
We love you more than we could ever tell you. We miss you now and will forever miss you. Your dad and I will do everything we can to keep your memory alive, and we will! We are truely grateful to have had all the time we had together even though it was cut way to short. Please help to look over us now. We love you pee-wee.
Love always daddy and mommy

Sierra and I got really close thanks to work. She knew everything about, as did I for her. She told me about everyone and everything (especially boys). But my favorite memory has to be her calling to ask if I wanted to get dinner and sitting at the restuarant talking for hours.

Whenever I had a problem work related or not she always knew how to cheer me up; whether it was a trip to cold stone or making me laugh. She was such an amazing friend. ❤️

Mike and Jami, Our hearts go out to you both. Such a devastating loss. We remember the wonderful times with Sierra. Some of the most memorable were Girl Scouts, volleyball tournaments, watching Chevy chase bunnies, and her dislike for anything with hamburger. All memories are a treasure. Be strong and know that our family and the rest of the community is here for you. The Bockover Family
