Obituary

WAUWATOSA-David H. Taylor, 29, of Wauwatosa WI, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016.  Dave was born on September 18, 1986 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of John and Rachel (Henningson) Taylor. David earned a Bachelors degree (Architecture and Art History) and a Masters degree (Architecture) from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.  After graduation he was employed by EMTEQ, which subsequently became B/E Aerospace. David was a well-rounded person who enjoyed most being with friends and family, but also read extensively.  He enjoyed his life in the Milwaukee area, frequently attending Brewers games and tailgating with friends, going to various concerts or festivals of all sorts, celebrating anything from brats or beer to Irish heritage.  Naturally curious and fascinated by life, he loved the outdoors.  Growing up he was always ready for a walk in a park or hike into a wood.  As he got older he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his cousin Mike and going on father-son fishing trips with friends from Minnesota.  One of his earliest griefs was the loss of one of these friends, Chase Bichel.  His last Saturday was spent at a Packers party with his friends. An infectious personality and instantly likable, those fortunate enough to spend time with Dave could not help but love him.  David is survived by his maternal grandparents, Thore and Evie (Hedstrom) Henningson, his parents and sister, Melissa, his Aunts and Uncles: Dan Henningson and Lilian Wikstrom; Craig Taylor and Kari Wyatt; Jean (Taylor) and Michael Martin; Amy (Taylor) and Anthony Schelich; Susan (Taylor) and Charles Blose; Mark and Nicole (Naiditich) Taylor; Judy DelSonto, Cousins: Johanna and Charlotta; Andrew and Alison; Michael and Rebecca; Jessica, Angela, Kiel and Ian; Bridgett and Katrina; Dean and Noah.  David is also survived by the most wonderful group of friends and coworkers imaginable. Dave was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Mary (Connor) Taylor.  A Memorial service will be held at Gunderson Funeral Home in Middleton on Saturday, January 30, with a Visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a Service at 1.pm.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Although I only worked with Dave since July he was a vital part of our team here at BE Aerospace. His knowledge and the relationships he had with our customers is irreplaceable, a true professional. He will be missed. Jeffrey Pettit

David was always a quiet, pleasant, cheerful and helpful neighbor, hanging out with his family in their back yard, welcoming friends and neighbors. I remember many a cold, snowstorm with David out helping his dad clear the sidewalks -- past their own lot down to our corner. This was particularly helpful when our daughter and twin boys were babies. Now, our own son tells us he is thinking of starting a neighborhood snow removal service when he turns twelve. Dave started working with me and our team at EMTEQ at the beginning of 2013 and he became an immediate asset to the organization. He was the easiest person to get along with and very easy to talk to. A super dedicated worker and a very supportive friend. We loved to discuss music, food and watches most of all, but I could honestly talk to him about anything. He had a shoulder for me to lean on through some rough personal events in my life. My heart goes out to his parents and sister Melissa most of all because they have been with this fantastic guy from the beginning and I know how close they were. Dave cared so much for his family and he looked forward to any and all time that he got to spend with them. Dave also had an infinite amount of friends and for good reason, he was fun to be around and he always had your back. The truest kind of person. Dave- I'm going to miss you dude! You left us too soon. Always, Kat

Dave and I have been close friends since freshman year of high school. In four years of high school, and through four years of college and beyond, Dave has been one of the pillars of my life. In his life and death, I count him among the people who really had a strong hand in shaping who I am and those who continue to inspire me. I have been in the habit of keeping journals since 2001, and I have been reading back through these journals over the past week and pulling out moments and passages that feature Dave. And here is one that I found from a 2005 journal, in our senior year of high school: Last night Dave Taylor kissed me! I have always wished for that to happen. Dave has always been an extremely good friend to me and it was wonderful to kiss my friend. The moment was beautiful. He kissed me and my heart leaped out of my chest. Dave really cares for me and I know that, and I am glad we saw the hilarity in being young and carefree together. Dave helps me remember that even though something may not last forever, that doesn’t mean it isn’t worthwhile. “Friendship is certainly the finest balm for the pangs of disappointed love.” - Jane Austen It was a huge comfort to find this passage and remember that dear moment with my friend Dave. Amidst the blurring world of him passing, this memory came into sharp focus. Silly, simple and wonderful. I miss you, friend.

Growing up I only met Dave sporadically as we live so far apart, but I was always proud to talk about my cousins older cousins in the US. When he was 16 he came with us on a summer trip through Europe and I remember bothering him to no ends and being so proud of teaching him a Swedish word or two. Even after that when we were visiting I would be shy due to the language and I always remember Dave being kind and trying to make the best of it. Once I answered a question without fully understanding it, resulting in him having to turn of the Jurassic Park movie that we were watching because they thought I thought it was scary. Even then, trying and failing to explain that that was not the case, feeling stupid, I just remember him always being kind and patient. I always hoped we would have more opportunities to properly get to know each other in the future. I will miss what was and what could be and will never forget my cousin and my love for him.
