MADISON-Virginia Olive Besler, age 78, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at Meriter Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on April 29, 1937, in Bison, S.D., the daughter of Herbert and Rosemary Shea. She married LeRoy Besler on Dec. 27, 1958, in Bison, S.D. Virginia graduated from Bison High School and Central Business College in Denver, Colo. She worked at General Casualty until retiring to become a full-time grandma. Virginia loved supporting and spending time with her family. She was also passionate about serving the St. Dennis community, baking and knitting. Virginia is survived by her husband of 57 years, LeRoy; children, Elaine (Gary) Wirsbinski, Dale Besler, Sue Besler and Brian (Kris) Besler; grandchildren, Sara and Danielle Wirsbinski, Jenny, Stephanie, Rachel and Nikki Mohrmann, and Emily and Lauren Besler; and siblings, Caryle Keefe of Anchorage, Ala., Sharon Barrett of Visalia, Calif., and Duane Shea of Bison, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, with Father Randy Timmerman and Deacon David Hendrickson concelebrating. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Dennis Catholic Church or the American Lung Association. Special thanks to the Meriter Hospital ICU doctors, nurses and the first responders for their loving care. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me; the rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. We all loved this woman. Such an inspiration. A great friend and Aunt. We will miss her. Our sympathy to you Uncle LeRoy and all the rest of the families. This was all way too sudden. But we have to trust that the Lord's ways, even though they may not be our way..are the right ways. There is a time and a place for every season under Heaven. Sending our love, Alma O'Rourke, Bob and Gladys Jackson.
