MADISON/MAZOMANIE-Mary D. Duhr, age 87, of Madison, passed away at Oak Park East, on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, with her family by her side. She was born on Nov. 21, 1928, in Mazomanie, the daughter of William and Mabel (Brumm) Royston. She married Walter Duhr on June 25, 1949, in Mazomanie. Mary was a long-time Madison resident and loved spending time with family and friends. She worked for the Town of Blooming Grove as treasurer, bookkeeper for her husband's company, Capital City Masonry, and as a clerk for Swiss Colony for many years. Mary enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida, California, Las Vegas, Branson, Mo., and northern Wisconsin. She loved going to church and to the "ladies monthly lunches". She also loved to shop, especially for anything black and white. Mary is survived by her daughter, Patti Duhr (Al "Jerry" Taylor); granddaughters, Traci (Todd) Sommerfeldt and Hayley Bergum; great-grandson, Silas; great-granddaughter, Isla; sister, Dorothy (Curt) Faust; many nieces and nephews; and friend, Michael "Bo" Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter of 55 years; parents; daughter, Suzie Duhr; and brother, Jack Royston. Funeral services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Dr., Monona, at noon, on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016. Visitation will be held at Roselawn from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Madison Chapter. A special thanks to the Oak Park aides and Agrace Hospice for their special care of Mary, and also to her nurse, Todd and cousin, Jill for getting her through her last night.
