Mary Ann Chvala

I remember Mrs. Chvala so well! She taught the 1972 St. Dennis 8th Grade Graduating Class a wonderful song popular at the time - We've Only Just Begun by the Carpenters. She practiced with us until we had it down perfectly. We then sang it at our Graduation Mass. I was also a student at LaFollette High School where the Chvala name was well known. Thank you - Mrs. Chvala for this and so many other wonderful things you have done - from the bottom of my heart. My deepest sympathy and prayers to your family. Mary Lee Rossmaessler Madison

I have known Mary Ann Chvala for decades as a sweet and generous next door neighbor. As a child I would roam around the neighborhood and she would give me a hug when I came across her yard. I also fondly remembered her for giving me and a couple of friends a huge bowl of vanilla ice cream with Hersey chocolate syrup every time we took her family dog out for a walk. Such a wonderful caring neighbor she was!
