Veronica A. Kessler

Veronica A. Kessler, age 88, of Whiting passed away peacefully Monday, November 23, 2015 at The Ridges of Lodi Care Facility, Lodi WI. She is survived by four sons: Ken (Denise) of Valparaiso, Larry of Billings, MT, David (Andrea) of Weston, FL and Martin (Debbie) of Lodi WI. Eight grandchildren: Karen (Sam) Gordon, Brian Kessler, Stephany (Junior) Sedillos, Hillary (Adam) Angle, Billy (Shelly)  Kessler, Jessica Kessler, Corinne Kessler and Sam M. Kessler; two great grandchildren: India Gordon and Corbin Sedillos; sister Adele (Doty) Kohut of Crown Point; numerous nieces and nephews and her dear friends and staff members from the Ridges of Lodi where she called home for the past 18 months.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam C. Kessler. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice Care of Madison WI and the volunteer caregiver that provided care and support for Veronica and her family. Veronica was born on March 21, 1927 in Hammond IN to Mary Lasko and was a longtime resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community.  She was a graduate of Hammond Tech High School, Class of 1945 and was a retiree of the George Rogers Clark High School cafeteria as a lunch server. Cremation will take place with no services as Veronica had wished with interment of her cremains at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made in Veronica's name to the Whiting Animal Control Shelter, P.O. Box 591, Whiting, IN 46394.
