Leo Anthony Capperino

MADISON-Leo Capperino, age 65, of Madison, died unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, after a long struggle with Parkinson's, Diabetes, and Heart Disease. He was born on Nov. 16, 1950, in Wausau, Wis., the son of Charles and Evelyn (Rogalla) Capperino. Leo's mother died at a young age and he was raised by his aunt and uncle George and Johanna (Rogalla) Marr, who were always Mom and Dad. He graduated from Whitnall High School in Hales Corners, Wis., in 1969. Leo attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and received a Bachelor's Degree in General Business in 1973. He returned to UW-Whitewater for a Master's of Arts degree in Teaching. Leo was a tremendous father and friend. His love for his children was matched only by his quick wit, dry humor, and kindness towards others. Leo was a lifelong Brewers, Packers, and Bucks fan. Leo is survived by Marilyn (Peterson) Capperino of Watertown; children, Christina (Brad) Hook of Madison, Joanna (Daniel) Wangerin of Okemos, Mich., and Melinda (Nick Garcia) Capperino of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters, Sandy (Al) Holewinski of Florida and Darlene Marr of Wausau; brother, Bill (Terri) Marr of Arizona; sister-in-law, Martha Fullmer of Appleton; grandchildren, Peter, Lauren and Danielle Wangerin, and Madeline and Aimee Hook; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn (Rogalla) Capperino; parents, George and Johanna (Rogalla) Marr; and his brother, Greg Marr. Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 30, 2015. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
