Peter,
It was an honor and privilege to have known you for the past 12 years. From our days at SMG together until now, you have always been a fun, kind, and caring friend to me and everyone. Even though we haven't really seen each other since high school, I have enjoyed keeping in touch with you over Facebook throughout the past few years. I won't ever forget you and the fun times we had together in middle school and high school—especially getting to wear your football jersey at homecoming. Rest in peace, Petey. You will forever hold a special place in my heart.

In 7th grade we were playing cherry bomb on the SMG playground and this boy in our class punched me in the face because I tagged him. Before I could do anything, Peter was standing over me making sure I was ok. Once he was sure that I was fine he turned around and gave that boy a seriously good talking to before turning to take me to the nurse. Peter was fuming for DAYS about it. From there on out I called him my body guard and he took that obligation very seriously and I have always been grateful. Whenever I needed someone in my corner Peter was there, even through all of high school and afterwards. That's the kind of guy Peter Sorce was, he was always standing up for his friends and he was never scared to do the right thing. He was so passionate and so kind and caring and he made people's lives better just by being in them and I mean that so sincerely. I am praying for Peter, the whole Sorce family and everyone who loved Peter - for which I know there are many. Rest in peace, Petey, I will miss having my body guard but know you'll be in my corner in spirit.

Peter taught me what friendship means. We spent countless happy hours in primary school playing sports and video games, making mischief in the neighborhood, or antagonizing our sisters. To those in need of a sympathetic ear or a reassuring word Peter was always there, including the ostracized and making the sad laugh. His memory will always be treasured in my heart. RIP Petey.

One of favorite Peter memories, was many years ago when the boys were young, and I came home from shopping to find Peter, Liam, Josh, Alex, and I think Steven running around screaming, "bat, bat, bat"! I thought maybe they had created some new clever game, but after getting one of them to stop running and screaming, discover we had a bat flying around in the house. I instructed them to grab me a glove and a tennis racket. While the other boys were still screaming and running, Peter quickly ran out back, came in with the mesh skimmer from the pool, held it up, and proudly said, "Will this work Mrs. Beebe?" The bat landed on the window sill and I was grateful to have the skimmer net to trap the little flyer. Peter was wise beyond his years, knew how to stand up and take charge and was always, always, respectful. We will watch over, pray and love your family and you will be missed forever. God bless your soul and rest in peace, Peter.
