Obituary

MIDDLETON-Ronald P. "Ron" Endres , passed away at the VA Hospital on Saturday, November 7, 2015 (just  a couple weeks short of his 69th birthday), due to complications of heart and lung disease.  Ron was a graduate of Madison West High School and worked in construction-related industries for most of his life.   He served our country in the Vietnam War and despite injuries that would to some degree impact the rest of his life, he was a consummate American patriot and supporter of our troops wherever they were deployed.  Ron married Sharon Richardson (the Three Sisters "Pie Lady") on September 20, 2002, and together they enjoyed their time boating and fishing Lake Mendota in the summer, Packer and Badger football games in the fall, and socializing with family and friends at the VFW or wherever family events might take them.  The party was never the same without them.  Ron's parents (both deceased) were Paul "Bates" and Sally Endres (who was a fixture at Smokey's for decades).  Two brothers also preceded him in death, Dick and Jack.  Ron is survived by two brothers, Tom of Madison/Waunakee and Bob of Arizona; a sister Joanne Van Horn of Scottsdale, Arizona and of course his wife, Sharon, who wants to thank the wonderful doctors and staff at the VA Hospital, with special thanks to Dr. Roth and Nurse Molly, who were a great source of strength to her during Ron's final weeks of life.  Ron was a proud and generous man who held us all to his own standards; we will miss him being with us.  In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services or visitation.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Sharon, I hope you feel my hugs. We will miss Ron and the kidding that we gave each other. I've lost my little steak tartar buddy. I am so thankful that we were able to spend that wonderful day with him at the hospital. You and I can build a fire in his memory next year at the cabin.

Ben Di Salvo I was glad to visit you at the VA when we did because you seemed like the Ron we knew. We always had great visits at the Woodman store talking about things. I remember the times you asked me to make you Garlic Lemon Sauce you would smell it and say "thats it...thats what Vito would make." When I stocked the Alfredo Sauce on Thursdays at Woody's or Metcalfe's. I would say to myself Ron was here because of how many jars were gone. I was sorry to see you go my friend because it is always to soon.
