Bernice Marie Shoffer

STOUGHTON-Bernice Shoffer, age 88, of Stoughton, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015. She was born on Sept. 26, 1927. Bernice grew up in Mantino, Ill. She married Joseph Shoffer on March 23, 1946, and lived in Wheaton, Ill., throughout their marriage. They enjoyed 39 years together until her beloved Joseph passed away on Dec. 18, 1985. Bernice devoted her life to her husband, four daughters, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, making preserves and needle pointing. Bernice is survived by her daughters, Carol Schwickrath and Joyce Balles; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter, all of whom live throughout the country. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; daughters Sharon Hutcheson and JoAnn Lee; and great grandson Adam Villanueva. Private services are being held for the family.
