MADISON/CAMBRIDGE/LAKE MILLS - Jack Guy Crosby, age 72, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, while planning a golf game with a friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Jack was born May 4, 1943, in Corry, Pa., the son of Robert and Loraine (Sholts) Crosby. They later moved to the Waterloo area of Wisconsin, where he attended high school. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Korea and later, in the Vietnam Conflict. He joined the Capitol Police Department in Madison in 1966, and served for 31 years, retiring in 1997. While still working in the Police Department, Jack met and married Karen Beal. Jack returned to the Capitol Police Department for seven years following 9/11. After re-retiring he worked at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. He also volunteered his time to drive children to the Shriners Children's Hospital in Chicago. During his free time, Jack always enjoyed a good day on the golf course. He loved to laugh, joke, tease, and be teased, always with a noticeable twinkle in his eye. Jack and I would always kid each other during band practice and at band events but the kidding would always be in good fun and lead to mutually warm feelings toward each other. I was really bummed out when I first heard of his sudden passing. Jack was a great guy and will be sorely missed in the Zor Shrine Pipe and Drum Band. We could always count on him to be there. He was an excellent Mason, Shriner and man and that speaks volumes for the nature of his character. Karen, please accept my deepest condolences in this time of sorrow.

We met Jack soon after we moved into the same subdivision. We heard a wailing noise and sure enough it was Jack practicing on the pipes. Definitely an attention getter. He will also be remembered for his smile and his outgoing personality. We worked together at a local auto auction where Jack was a natural since it seemed that Jack already knew most of the people in Southern Wisconsin. Jack will be sorely missed. We were so fortunate to have had Jack as a friend. Thanks Jack. Barry and Lisa Berggren
