MADISON-Jason A. Lapiin, age 34, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015. He was born Jason M. Crook on March 27, 1981, in Dodgeville, the son of Jerry and Mary (Weitzel) Crook. Jason was united in marriage to Kathleen Muraski on June 9, 2012. He was a graduate of River Valley High School and continued his education earning an associate degree in Web Programming in 2013. He had a variety of interests including the outdoors, technology and music, but truly treasured most the time he spent with his family and friends. Jason is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his mother, Mary Crook; and his siblings, Sean, Shane (Jolene), Courtney (Dan), Lindsay (Nate) and Brandon (Jenny). He was preceded in death by his father Jerry. A Celebration of Jason's Life will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015. Sharing of memories with Chaplain Stephen Zwettler will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NAMI of Dane County. Jason touched many lives and will be deeply missed. I picked Jason up for us to go work a month ago -I saw I huge Great Dane (larger than what I've seen in some time) as I was driving and pointed it out across the street from us at that point - it squated at that point and had a huge dump - we laughed very hard it just seemed hilarious at that time- yes very 3rd grade of us yet a memory where he was upbeat & happy- may his journey now be blessed

Forever saddened by his sudden loss, we may never understand fully the difficult struggles in anyone's Life . We should always take the time to tell them "you are loved" and ask "How can I help"?

Jason has been to so many what I think we all wished we could have been to him. He had a gentleness about him that allowed him to be a great friend, a comfort in times of need and struggle. A light, if you will. May peace follow his friends and family during this time. He had a laugh that was instant and contagious. May his laugh carry with all those touched by such an amazing guy. Special hugs to his mother, siblings and wife. May you all stay strong.
