Obituary

MADISON-Helen Klibaner, age 83, born September 29, 1932 in Long Island, New York and died October 3, 2015 in Madison, the daughter of Anne Rosenblatt and Irving Daitch, beloved wife of Irwin, devoted mother to Maya and Aaron and adored by her grandson Jacob. Helen was educated at Antioch College and Los Angeles City College and held Masters degrees in Psychology and Education.  She had a distinguished 20-year career as a teacher at Huegel Elementary School. Helen loved nature and travel. She and her students founded a prairie garden at Huegel.  After retiring, she was a guide at the Arboretum, and an environmental and social activist in Madison. She was active in the Jewish community, and in her last years the Unitarian Society, her lovely smile, kindness and generosity won her many good friends.  Burial was held at the Natural Paths Cemetery, Verona.  Donations may be made in Helen's name to the UW Carbone Cancer Center or to Wisconsin Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
