Obituary
MADISON-Gary G. Chatten, age 73, of Madison passed away on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at University of Wisconsin Hospital. He was the son of Leslie Chatten and Dorothy (Meade) Tadder. Gary grew up in Richland Center. He married Ellen Rule on Oct. 17, 1964, in Dubuque, Iowa, and together they raised three children. Gary was well known as the proud owner of ABC Glass Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, the Packers, and most of all spending time with his family. Gary is survived by his wife, Ellen; children, Cyndi (Rick Olivares) Chatten-Culb, Crystal (Jon) Mulholland and Chuck (Becky Meyer) Chatten; grandchildren, Ashley Amble (Matt Daniels), Collin (Lauren Dyson) Culb, Cali and Chloe Chatten; great-grandchildren, Shayla and Shanya Daniels; step-granddaughters, Jenny and Mandy Mulholland; and their children; sisters, Penny (Damon) Newton and Kelly (Jack) Douglas; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; and his companion cats, Cleo and Chaz. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, and from noon until the time of the service on Thursday. Many thanks to our neighbors, the Herrick's and the Banta's for their love through the years and the UW F4 Trauma doctors and nursing staff for their excellent care of Gary. My memories of Gary go back to the days at Richland Center High School. I was in the class behind Gary but was friends with many from his class. He was a outgoing person always willing to talk to anyone about anything. My sympathy to his mother, Dorothy and the entire family.

My deepest condolences for your loss, I know Gary will be deeply missed by all in the same way he had a very unique love and appreciation for all his family and friends. I hope when my time comes I’ll hear his hearty laugh again and feel his strong hand shake my hand. I’ll know then I’m in the right place.

I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of Gary Chatten.
Chuck and my brother have been friends for many years and I recall saying hi to Gary when I was sent to your house to get my brother when they were kids.
