Obituary

MADISON - Vanessa Allison Condon, age 41, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, October 4, 2015. She was born September 28,1974 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Patrick and Elizabeth Condon. Vanessa was devoted, compassionate, detailed, sweet, fair, honest, tart, and always wanted to make sure that those around her were being taken care of. She was respectful of; people; love in any form; traditions; art; spirituality; and the environment. She was also an extraordinary award-winning baker. Many thought they were good bakers, until they tasted Vanessa's desserts. Vanessa had cravings to see the world, and savor the culture from foreign destinations. Of all the foods she sampled and adored, she would say the most delicious may have been a pistachio gelato, eaten while walking the streets of Rome. She garnished her life with close friends, and a work ethic that also earned her multiple awards and honors. She particularly had a sweet up-close and personal connection with her cat Montana, because he literally preferred to be within inches of her at all times. Vanessa's true comfort food was her family, whom she always looked forward to visiting, cooking and eating with. Vanessa is survived by her longtime partner, Adam; parents, Patrick and Elizabeth; grandmother, Mary Ann Condon; grandmother, Elizabeth Berg; sister, Cassondra (Eric) Manteau; brothers, Jeremy, Nathanael, Garrett (Kaylen), and Ryan (Dawn) Condon; and a cast of thousands of dear family members. She is also survived by Adam's mother, Beverly Hills (Rick Romer); father, Paul Meyer (Peg Shea); sister, Suzie (John) Wagner; brother, Patrick Hills-Meyer (Gina Tortorice); and let us not forget Vanessa's furry babies, Montana (cat) and Bella (dog). She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Joseph Condon; grandfather, Edward Berg; aunt, Joanne Condon; cousins, Ashley and David Condon; nieces and nephew, Angelica, Faith, and Elijah Manteau; and Vanessa's dogs, Buddi and JD. A Celebration of Vanessa's Life will be held at 4324 Sprecher Road, Madison, WI 53718, on Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. To honor Vanessa's requests, in lieu of flowers or gifts a memorial fund has been set up at vanessacondon.causevox.com. If you are unable to make a donation, please make a delicious dessert, and share it with those you love. She was a tremendous baker and loved making desserts. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. "Vanessa was my favorite person in the entire world. It won't be the same without her, but I will do my best to honor her memory. I believe Vanessa made me a better person, and made life feel like fresh baked rhubarb pie with a golden crust. I hope she did the same for you." - Adam Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Dr. (608) 221-5420

Vanessa is a wonderful woman who was always so sweet. I remember sitting in your parent's basement looking at photographs from your trip to Spain and listening to your stories. Her whole face lit up when she talked about it and the way you both interacted with each other was inspirational. The love you had was clear and obvious. Married or not, you two have a love that transcends the dimensions. I wish you the best, Adam, as you journey on without her by your side, but with her always in your heart.
