James Michael Hansen

Hansen, James Michael MADISON-James Michael Hansen passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on Sept. 3, 1979, in Madison, the loving son of Susan Hansen and Rick and Brenda Hansen. He attended Madison area schools and graduated from Madison Lafollette in 1998. Jim will be most remembered by those that love him for is loving heart, sense of humor and generosity. He was always such a giving and caring person and his wishes were to be an organ donor. Jim and his family are so honored that he was able to give the ultimate gift of life after his passing. His biggest goals in life were to win his independence, control his health and take in as many joyful moments. Despite many obstacles he faced fighting Epilepsy most of his life, he never gave up and kept the fight up until the end. Jim is survived by his parents; sister, Susie Hansen; special niece, Taylor Luetzow; stepbrothers, Tyler, Zack and Caden; grandparents, Ron and Joann Suchomel; the Trumble family; and many very special aunts, uncles, and close cousins that were also his best friends and considered him their brother. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Beverly and Albert Hall and Walter and Eunice Hansen. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 19, 2015. Visitation with be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hansen family to help with funeral costs. In honor of epilepsy awareness, those attending may wear purple clothing if they would like.
