Melody was one of my favorite people at DHS. I feel very fortunate to have basked in her sunny personality and sweet disposition. As quiet and unassuming as what she seemed, you would never guess the character that emerged when she sat behind the driver’s wheel: I’ll never forget catching sight of Melody’s fire engine red Fiesta weaving in and out of traffic on Hwy 51 and the beltline, waving off the horns and gestures from the other drivers, as though they had done her the favor of letting her in, and then calling her out on it when I finally trailed into the office several minutes after her tire squealing arrival. The twinkling eyes and guilty blush that accompanied the realization that I was the one in the car behind her was priceless. I shared many laughs with Melody and cherish all of them.

We sang in the choir at Monona United Methodist Church with Melody's Dad ("Sparky") and always enjoyed seeing Melody and Jonathon out in the congregation, usually in the second pew. She always was smiling and was a real sweet person and great Mom. Peggy and Jon Traver

Melody will be missed by our family. We always loved hearing her stories about salamanders, growing up as a kid, laughing together, and enjoying conversations. Thank you for being our friend. Thank you for loving the boys and our family. love always. Cyndy, Jay, Tyler, Jaden & Dodger (JJ's best puppy friend).

I will remember Melody fondly as a kind and soft spoken woman. As a new employee at DHS, she went out of her way to assist me and I observed her kind and helpful manner to others as well while she worked here. She will be missed. Shawn Thomas

I was fortunate to be able to work with Melody on a daily basis. Her bright spirit, laugh and humor will be greatly missed. I keep expecting to here one of her favorite expressions - "yippie skippie" or "dog-gone-it" I feel I am a better person after having Melody in my life. Miss you greatly. Joan Ellenbecker
