Lillian G. Franzl

LODI-Lillian G. Franzl, age 94, passed away peacefully with her two daughters at her side on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 in Lodi. She was born on May 21, 1921 in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of John and Anna Gavlas. Lillian married Milton Franzl on June 1, 1940 in Chicago, Ill. After many years staying at home raising her family, she broadened her horizons and worked as an executive secretary at Amphenol Borg in Broadview, IL.The had a passion for tending her gardens and making crafts for display and sharing with friends but loved most spending time with her family. Lillian was actively involved with a number of organizations including the Lodi Area Garden Club, Lodi Woman's Club and  the Okee Lend a Hand Club  Lillian is survived by her daughters, Karen Skilbred and Lynette (Robert) Clapp; grandchildren, Christopher and Justin Skilbred, Sheli (Gary) Mares, Tod (Terra) Clapp, Ted (Shana) Clapp, Jill (Ray)Baeza, and Tom Clapp; and 15 great-grandchildren, a niece and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 64 years, Milton, her sister Mildred Vesely Crowley and her son-in-law, Carl Skilbred, Funeral services will be held at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 206 Pleasant St., Lodi, at 11am on Friday, Sept.  18, 2015, with Rev. Michael Lee presiding. Burial will be at Garden Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.
