Obituary

MADISON-Beverly Mae "Bev" Stanton, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, at Karmenta Center where she endured for the past seven years following a stroke. She was born on Jan. 31, 1924, in Madison, the daughter of Ross and Olive (Rapp) Rohr. Bev graduated from West High and attended Madison Business College. In 1949, she married John "Jack" Stanton. Bev worked at Badger Ordinance in Baraboo, the U.S. Armed Forces Institute, and at one time was Col. Wright's secretary at Truax Field in Madison. She also worked at Frito-Lay and W.P.S. Bev enjoyed exercising almost every day and in the summer working in her awesome flower garden. She kept sharp by doing the daily crossword and cryptoquote. Bev loved to play cards with her friends from U.S.A.F.I. You could always find her at Olbrich Park watching us play softball. She loved to travel, and took several Caribbean cruises and many trips across the country to run Jack's steam engines at Live Steam meets. Bev liked music and watching the Packers and Badgers. She was always ready to ride on a motorcycle or in a cool car. In the early 70's she got a butterfly tattoo, way before it was the thing to do. Bev is survived by her sons, Rick (Kathy Schafer) and Steve; several in-laws; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and brothers, Harold "Babe", Robert and Howard. No service is planned at this time. Mom, everyone will miss your friendly hello and goodbye wave! Online condolences may be made to www.gundersonfh.com. Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Drive (608)221-5420
