Obituary

MADISON-Marilyn Marie Lindau, age 85, passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015. She was born on Nov. 18, 1929, in Madison, to Daisy and John Raftree. She graduated from Madison East High School in 1947. She maintained lifelong connections with her high school friends. She attended the University of Wisconsin where she met Paul Lindau and they were united in marriage on January 28, 1950. She raised her four children in Madison and along the way forged lasting relationships with many friends. They retired and moved to Key West. After Paul died Marilyn moved back to Madison to be close to her grandchildren. She enjoyed biking, playing bridge, golfing, bowling and traveling with SAS and Friendship Force. While volunteering at a Madison Brat Fest she met Michael Siemion and they enjoyed a thirteen year friendship. They had many adventures with their friends they titled "The Six Pack". She is survived by her sister, Sharon Stoltz of Arena; sister-in law, Ann Lindau of Florida; daughter, Lori (Steve) Pagelow of Madison; sons, Danny (Susie) Lindau, of Colorado and Jamie (Karen) Lindau of Madison; her grandchildren, Ryan (Nicky) Pagelow of Illinois, Brandon (Ashley) Pagelow of New Jersey, Cameron (Meg) Lindau of Middleton, Eli and Kyia Lindau of Madison and Kelly and Courtney Lindau of Colorado; and great-grandchildren, Boden, Isabelle, Alexander and Sadie; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lindau; son, Mark Lindau; brother, Joe Raftree; sister, Pat Feller; brothers-in-law, Walter Feller and Bill Stoltz; and nephew, Michael Olson. Mom you taught us to work hard, dream big and be nice and kind to others, we love you and will miss you. The family is planning a memorial service at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at Noon, on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
