I feel compelled to share this story of two friends ..... Back in the 1940's My Grandma Traudt and Mrs. Coin were Girl Scout Leaders and there Daughters Carolynn (my Mom) and Mary (my Aunt) would become friends. On a G.S. trip to Durwards Glen in the Baraboo Bluffs Mary would meet her future husband, Glen and eventually Carolynn's Brother-in law !!! You see Mary and Carolynn remained friends after G.S and high school days..... Mary asked Carolynn to be in her wedding (May 5,1956) she stood up with Glens oldest brother Lewis (my Dad) .....You see were this is headed ??? That's how my parents met and that is how Mary and Carolynn became sister-in-laws two years later my parents married (May 3,1958) ((almost to the day!!!) )Through all the years the up's and down's in life, there lives would remained close. Camping in the earlier days with there kids, family events, a trip to Texas/Mexico to see Vic & Ruth and after retirement they spent many days at Shady acres together..... Mom and Mary would continue there adventures Antiquing, shopping, driving the countryside, having lunch together, hanging out on the camper porch reading books they would share and exchange, they enjoyed going out for dinner with there husbands Glen & Lew .... Sadly we lost my Mom almost 7 yrs. ago and now my Aunt Mary just a few days ago ....I find it oddly comforting but very fitting that our family will lay Aunt Mary to rest today on my Moms Birthdate aligning there stars again and reuniting them in eternal peace ..... Amy Uncle Glen, Pat, Kathy, Jim and grandkids, I so wish we could have come back for the service but know that you've been in our thoughts and prayers ~~~~Lewis, Amy and Ed
