Frances Emmaline Butler

CROSS PLAINS-Frances Emmaline (Rolfs) Butler, a lifetime resident of the Cross Plains area, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at Heartland Nursing Home of Black Earth.  Frances, the youngest of four children, was born to Otto and Mamie (Paschke) Rolfs, at her family's farm near Black Earth, on April 28, 1920. She met Donald A. Butler when he came to work on the telephone service at the farm. They were married on April 27, 1946, following his return from World War II.  Frances is survived by her two children, David (Marcia) Butler of Janesville and Kathleen (James) Kersten of Black Earth; five grandchildren, Troy (Andrea) Kersten, Heidi (Jeffrey) Schroeder, Scott (Suiette Marchant) Kersten, Aimee (Gregory) Henderickson and Aron (Michelle Discher) Kersten; and six great-grandchildren, Jason Schroeder, Alexis, Valerie and Lucas Kersten and Emily and Maya Hendrickson.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Wesley and Maurice Rolfs; and her sister, Lenore Rolfs.  At Frances' request, a private service was held with burial beside her husband at the Valley Home Cemetery in Cross Plains.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
