Obituary

MALCHESKI, LaVERNEMadison-LaVerne Malcheski, age 87, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Agrace HospiceCare. LaVerne was born on April 25, 1928 the daughter of Edward and Rosella Gilbert. She married Edward Malcheski on June 5, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2010.She worked for St.  Mary's Hospital Auxiliary for 30 years.  LaVerne's interests included golfing (making a Hole in One), gardening and especialy playing bridge with her Bridge Club friends.  She was a member of Blackhawk Country Club and St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.Survivors include: her son, Scott, daughter, Sue (Stu) Johnson; grandchildren, Alan Malcheski, Michelle Malcheski, Jennifer (Curt) Corbett;  great grandchildren, Owen Nelson and Phoenix Nelson .She is also survived by sisters, Catherine Van Vreede, Noreen (Robert) Wenninger, and a brother Eugene (Doris) Gilbert. LaVerne was preceded in death by a brother Lee Gilbert and sister, Vyonne Sherman Seymour.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding.  Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com
