Obituary
MADISON-June Darkow, age 85, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at Oak Park Place. She was born on June 19, 1930, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Orrin and Aldeen (Bodendorfer) Hammetter. She graduated from Cedarburg High School and married her high school sweetheart, Glenn Darkow on Nov. 7, 1953. While Glenn was serving in the U.S. Navy they moved to Washington, D.C. where June worked as a Stenographer for the Judge Advocate General of the U.S. Navy at the Pentagon. June enjoyed bowling, working in her yard, was an amazing cook and her family was her life. June also enjoyed walking with Glenn at East Towne Mall for 20 years. June is survived by her husband, Glenn; son, Bruce (Debbie) Darkow; grandchildren, Brian Darkow, Allen (fiancé Kayla) Darkow and DeAnna (Scott) Russell; great- grandson, Cody; brother, Gerry Hammetter. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carole Jean Darkow and sister-in-law, Lorraine Hammetter. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Online condolences may be made to www.gundersonfh.com.
