Baker, Judith L. MADISON-Judith L. Baker, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, from a courageous battle with cancer, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 2, 1926, in Harvey, Ill., the daughter of Walter J. Meder and Inga O. (Gunderson) Meder. Judith married Clement L. Baker on Sept. 7, 1947, in Hazel Crest, Ill. She graduated from MATC with a degree in clothing and textiles in 1969. Judith was awarded for outstanding service to Madison's sewing community from Han's Sewing Center. She was employed at Madison Recharging Service. Judith loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and crafts. Judith was a steward of the Trinity award for charter membership. She was also a long time auxiliary member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Judith is survived by her loving husband Clement, of almost 68 years; daughters, Sharon (Glen) Kenyon of Madison, Janice (Robert) Howland of Madison, and Doris (Robin) Danks of Madison; four grandchildren, David (Jesie Lyn), Jessica (Terry Banks), Katie and Cathy; six great-grandchildren, Isabella, Hailey, Terry Jr. and Cody Banks, and Jackson Danks and soon to be Jordon Danks; siblings, Leonne Kick of Stoughton; Walter J. Meder Jr. of Illinois, Theresa Watts of Florida, Raymond (Marilyn) Meder of Florida, Jerome (Judy) Meder of Madison, and Marie (James) Filer of Burlington; and sisters-in-law, Charlene Baker of Indiana, and Arlene Meder of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Thomas and Robert Baker; two grandsons, Tyson and Jeremy Howland; brother, Wendell Meder; sister, Inez (Lloyd) Pederson; brothers-in-law, William Watts, Frank Kick and Franklin Baker; and sister-in-law, Jackie Meder. Funeral services will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1904 Winnebago Street, Madison, at noon, on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Agrace HospiceCare or Bright Star.
