Walter Sherman Eccles

Eccles, Walter Sherman MONONA- Walter Sherman Eccles, age 76, of Monona, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015. He was born on May 30, 1939, in Milwaukee, the son of William and Sylvia (Miller) Eccles. Walter attended Milwaukee Country Day School ('57) and earned his undergraduate degree from UW-Madison ('61). He worked in international sales independently as well as for Oshkosh Truck, Waukesha Bearings, the Dover Corporation, and B&G Manufacturing. He was proud of his family's Badger tradition and very passionate about golf. Walter is survived by his children, Walter (Dina, Jake and Maya Martinez) Eccles II, Katie Eccles, Kevin (Tracy and Ezra) Eccles and Liam Eccles; and by his sister Sylvia (Court) Nichols. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, William Eccles. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 24, 2015. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Burial will be at Blooming Grove Cemetery immediately following the service.
