Walasek, Luz J.
MADISON-Luz J. Walasek, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at Oak Park Place. She was born on April 21, 1935, in Puerto Rico, the daughter of Juan and Luz (Bird) Velazquez. She married John Walasek on July 17, 1965, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Luz worked for the Department of Military Affairs for 15 years. In her spare time she loved to spend time with her granddaughter, Emma. Luz is survived by her husband, John; son, John Walasek Jr.; daughter, Janet Walasek; and granddaughter, Emma Walasek. She was preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Hannah Walasek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday. Janet, I'm heavy hearted at learning about the loss of your mom. I have such fond happy memories of her! She had an infectious laugh and smile that won't ever be forgotten. I think of all the chats we would have with her after school, she always made us feel good about ourselves and encouraged us to be proud and self confident young women. Warm hugs to you, Emma and your family.
