Obituary

Donohue, Marjorie Anne (Leisen) MADISON- Marjorie Anne (Leisen) Donohue, age 78, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015, surrounded by family. She was at peace when she passed. Marjorie fought a brave battle with pancreatic cancer and thanks to family, Agrace HospiceCare, and BrightStar Care she was able to remain at home with family until God called her to be by His side. She was born on Nov. 25, 1936, in St. Cloud, Minn., the daughter of Vincent J. Leisen and Helen E. Leisen. Margie married William G. Donohue on Sept. 14, 1957, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in St. Cloud. She was a graduate of St. Cloud Hospital School of X-Ray Technology, May 1957. Marjorie was a stay-at-home wife and mother of nine children, an avid gardener; producing beautiful flowers and an abundance of vegetables. As a loving grandma, she always had time to care for her grandchildren, even if it was at 5:30 in the morning. Marge was a devout Catholic and active in the church throughout her life. She was a Eucharistic minister, monthly organizer of perpetual adoration at the chapel for religious vocations, and led adult education bible study for many years. She helped develop a baptism preparation program for young couples at St. Dennis to include the history of baptism and provide them with the spiritual tools to celebrate baptism within the home. Marge also led prayer services and distributed Holy Communion at Karmenta Center. Margie is survived by her husband of 57 plus years, William G. Donohue; children, William A. (Kelly) Donohue of Grand Rapids, Mich., John M. (Maureen) Donohue of Maple Lake, Minn., Thomas P. (Kim) Donohue of Monroe, David R. Donohue of Grand Junction, Colo., Kathleen A. (John) Dembinski of Chanhassen, Minn., Stephen V. (Tamra) Donohue of De Pere, Anne P. (Dennis) Bork of Cottage Grove, Brian H. (Camie) Donohue of Minnetonka, Minn. and Paul C. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Vincent Leisen; sisters, Susie Leisen and Joanne Raymond; and grandson, Michael P. Donohue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, with Father Joji Reddy Allam presiding. A Christian burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens following the service. My sister, Marjorie, was a person with the highest values. She loved her family, her Catholic faith and her country with all her heart. As her younger sister, I could always depend on her when I was in need of support of any kind. I will deeply miss her. Words cannot explain the emptiness I feel with her loss, and only the knowledge that she is with her family who predeceased her, her Lord Jesus, and all the angels and saints can comfort me right now. I know she is at rest after a lifetime of giving to others all her love and devotion. Dear sister of mine, go in the grace of God to your eternal reward. Man has not seen, nor heard what God has in store for those who love Him. R. I. P. Gretchen Leisen

I will always remember Aunt Margie for her endearing smile and youthful giggle. A generous soul. I remember her cleaning copious amounts of green beans from the garden in Eden Valley. And on a trip she and Uncle Bill made to the East Coast, they made a point to see me. My thoughts are with the family.
