George, you were a wonderful, beautiful man and a great friend to all who have been fortunate enough to know you. We played golf together in MARGA for several years and I always looked forward to seeing you out there on Friday mornings. Everyone in our league marveled at how well you played, often much better than those of us 20 years younger. Unbelievable. But that was you. Never complaining, always with a smile on your face, and a firm handshake for everyone. You were a true inspiration for how all of us could and should live our lives. Thank you for everything. You'll be missed and remembered always. Your friend, Larry Chatman

Oh Grandpa! What joy you brought into our lives! I always felt loved by you even as an awkward, overweight adolescent with no athletic ability. So blessed that I've been able to know you through those rough times, and then when I found my voice, and that my husband and children know you too. You truly are Grace personified.

George was a great guy, Got a chance to play golf with him last 3 years in Muskegon. He kept up with me and scored about as good as me. He was fun to be around, always had a funny comment to say about anything. Really going to miss the golf with him this year. Denny Loughrige
