Irene Pederson

MONONA-Irene Theresa Pederson, age 87, passed away in Sun Prairie, on Sunday, July 19, 2015. She was born on March 24, 1928, at St. Joseph Hospital in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Rose and George Lockbaum. Irene married Paul Pederson on Sept. 4, 1948, at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls. Irene provided home daycare for many family members and friends. She loved children and cherished her time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Irene enjoyed many trips with her loving husband, Paul to Canada, Niagara Falls, Mackinac Island, and Florida. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the St. Ann's Society. Irene is survived five children, Paulette (John) Spink, James (Judy) Pederson, Janet (Bill) Ring, Bill Pederson, and Marybeth (Tom) Bates; brothers, James and Earl Lockbaum of Chippewa Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings, Lloyd, Margaret, Louise, Rosemary, and Evelyn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Visitation will be held at the church from noon until the time of the service on Tuesday. Irene was a very loving and giving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. We will miss her dearly.
