David A. Gilbertson

Gilbertson, David A. STOUGHTON-David A. Gilbertson, age 68, of Stoughton, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on Oct. 23, 1946, in Monroe, the son of Norman and Esther Gilbertson. He married Lois Ellestad on Sept. 2, 1972, in Madison. David was a longtime barber in Stoughton and gave all of his nephews their first haircut. He was also a longtime member of West Koshkonong Lutheran Church. David grew up in Monroe and graduated in 1964. He enjoyed golfing and camping and loved barbequing and spending time with family. David enjoyed traveling to Branson to listen to country and folk music. He is survived by his brother, Jim (Sandy) of Deerfield; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Royletta Severson, Sarah Hofer, Shirley (Robert) Holt, Judith (Charles) Hitt and Gerald (Sharon) Ellestad; nieces and nephews, Cheryl, Jessie, Luanne (Gary), Brice (Amber), Sheila, Laura (Duane) Ryan, Mackenzie, Rachel (Max), Aina, Lilah, Paige, Julie (Mike), Maddox, Zane, Matthew, Parker, Isaac, Abigail (Amy), Doug (Shanna), Jayme, Jordin, Zackary, Haley, Tina, Bobby (Heather), Laura (Craig), John, Angela (Adam), Nicki, Dani, Erin (Jason), Lexie, Nicholas, Deaven, Christian, Sheyann, Aleysia, Collyn, Cory, Carleigh, McKenzie, Zachary, Brandon, Thomas, David, Hayden, Blake, and Atley; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois, in January of this year; brothers, Dennis and Ron; and sister Geraldine (Bill) Walters. Funeral services will be held at WEST KOSHKONONG LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1911 Koshkonong Rd., Stoughton, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, with the Rev. Richard Dowling presiding. Burial will be at West Koshkonong Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. There will be a luncheon following the burial.
