Murray Sailing

Sailing, Murray OKLAHOMA/MADISON- Murray Sailing, age 95, of Madison, went to be with our Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. He was born on May 26, 1920, in Thomas, Okla., the son of Martin and Lula (Caswell) Sailing. Murray was a radioman in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Samuel Chase and served during WWII. He married Helen Huntley on March 31, 1945, in Madison. Murray enjoyed owning and running Tenney Park Foods on E. Johnson St. in Madison. He liked gardening and was proud of his calla lilies. Murray was fun loving and liked to make people laugh with his jokes. He loved long walks and spending time with his family. Murray is survived by his daughter, Marilyn (Greg) Potts; a granddaughter, Jillian (Paul) Feit; two great-grandchildren, Henry and Claire; and a daughter-in-law, Britt Sailing. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen, of 70 years; a son, Glen; and nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
