Obituary
Borman, Linda K.
STOUGHTON-Linda K. Borman, age 60, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Nov. 1, 1954, in Stoughton, the daughter of Irving and Betty (Vaage) Melaas. She married Dennis B. Borman on Dec. 16, 1977, in Stoughton. Linda was a lifelong resident of Stoughton and a longtime employee of the UW Medical Foundation. She was also a member of Covenant Lutheran Church. Linda was a kind and compassionate person whose humility and honesty showed all who knew her what a life well lived can be. She enjoyed volunteering at Three Gaits, the Shillelagh Foundation, Viking Dog Park and Hope Chest, as well as walking in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. In the last few months of Linda's life, her family has found great comfort at Gilda's Club in Madison. Linda and Dennis's genealogy research in the early 1990's led to trips to the Melaas family farm in Slinde Norway. While attending a local auction, Linda was able to acquire the Melaas family Bible that was purchased in Bergen Norway in 1841 and is currently on display at Livsreise in Stoughton. Linda loved to travel and made many friends in Norway, England, Spain and Ireland. She loved family cruises in the Caribbean and attending the Oshkosh Fly-In every year with her father. Linda had a zest for life and her spontaneity was refreshing – she was hard to keep up with. Linda is survived by her husband, Dennis; two daughters, Angela Borman and Lindsay (Colin) Gagnon; parents, Irving and Betty Melaas; sisters, Susan (Jeffrey) Pundt, Mary Kluever and Teresa (Doug) Juve; nieces and nephews, Wade Pundt, Garrett Kluever, Sara (Joe) Frey and Kyle Juve; great-nieces, Aricia Pundt and Olivia Frey. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Beverly and Bill Borman; grandparents, Evan and Olaf Vaage and Geda and Joseph Melaas. A memorial service will be held at COVENANT LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1525 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m., on Friday, June 19, 2015, with the Rev. Mark Petersen presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy. 51 N. at Jackson St., from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, June 18, 2015 and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Contributions may be given in Linda's memory to Three Gaits, Inc., or the organizations that she volunteered with listed above. The family would like to thank Agrace HospiceCare and Dr. Samuel Lubner and the oncology team of the UW Carbone Cancer Center. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

A special person through and through. She only had good things to say and always had a smile on her face. She could bring a smile to my face easily. As for memories, I have many --making chocolate frosting to snack on as young kids, doing a charity walk that I think was 26 miles-we all had such sore legs for days after that, and laughing hysterically while trying to walk up Page Street on an icy evening because we kept slipping and falling, are just a few good memories. Thinking of Dennis, their daughters, her parents and sisters.
