Langer, Raymond "Ray" CHICAGO/OREGON– Raymond "Ray" Langer, age 92, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Nov. 6, 1922, in Chicago, the son of Reinhold and Barbara (Bail) Langer. Ray married Ethel Clark on Aug. 22, 1943, in Las Vegas, NV. He served in the U.S. Army from January 1943 to October 1945. Ray worked at Marshall Fields, Superior Engraving and was also a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and loved sports, especially the Chicago Cubs. Ray is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ethel; four children, Marilyn Ganger, Raymond (Beth) Langer, Richard (Cathy) Langer and Gloria (Linda) Houston; seven grandchildren, Megan LaDue, Brett Langer, Marnie (Brad) Schultz, Cecilia Ganger, Cadie Amber (Gerardo) Gutierrez-Langer, Joshua Langer and Ryan (Harli) Houston; and 15 great-grandchildren, Miles Langer, Eli LaDue, Mason LaDue, Luna Gutierrez-Langer, Mila Gutierrez-Langer, Rosemary Langer, Haley Schultz, Jacob Schultz, McKenna Schultz, Lily Schultz, Michael Ganger, Julia Houston, Riley Houston, Rylan Houston and Olibhia Houston. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Bill, Paul, Robert and Reinhold. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street, Oregon, at 4 p.m., on Sunday, June 7, 2015. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday. Burial will be held at Prairie Mound Cemetery on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 10 a.m..
