Amy and family - I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I remember him from growing up and coming to your house to swim. May your memories comfort you and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Wish I could be there Saturday to give you a hug in person. Flansy

The sparkle in Hugh's eyes has always burned brightly. He was an integral part of our Class of 1952 at Edgewood High School in Madison. He and Melva attended many of our reunions and added to their fun and their success. His school ties reached even further back to those classmates at St. Raphael's Grade School in Madison. He had many dear friends from each of those school groups and we will all miss him, his smile, his spirit and his sense of humor. Rest in peace, dear friend. Patty (Doyle) Sullivan

Hugh and I go back a long, long time. We attended Notre Dame Grade School and McDonnell High School in Chippewa Falls, WI together. We were teammates in sports, especially with the Chippewa Tigers baseball team. Hugh was our ace pitcher but could play anywhere when not on the mound. I knew Hugh's very kind mother and his 3 brothers. He came from an outstanding catholic family and we spent a lot of time together at each others homes. Hugh was blessed with outstanding musical talent. Especially the trombone but also an excellent piano player. I always cherished our class reunions because then we were able to spend time reminiscing about the Tigers, River Rats, Mack's and the Badgers. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and always kept me updated on them. "When someone you love becomes a memory the memory becomes a treasure" God Bless! Hugh was a good friend, whose sense of humor was always part of him. We loved our time spent with him and Melva,. I enjoyed his stories, and loved that he sang with gusto, always an addition to sing-a-long parties at our house. He will be missed by his family and his friends and all those he helped throughout his lifetime. I am grateful for his and Melva's friendship over the years. They lived a long time across the street from us in Madison, and there are great stories to tell. Our kids respected High, and have great memories, too. God bless the Emerson family at this time of loss, but know that nothing's lost that love remembers.
