Obituary
Brugger, John "Jack"
MIDDLETON-John "Jack" Brugger. On June 29th, 2015, Jack Brugger passed away from complications of living a darn good life for 93 years. Dad was born the 5th child of John Adam and Louise Kathryn Brugger on March 24, 1922, in Lake Geneva, Wisc. He graduated from Lake Geneva High School in 1940 and immediately went to work for Wisconsin Bell until he enlisted in the Navy in 1942. After an honorable discharge in 1946 he returned to Wisconsin Bell until his retirement in 1982 after 42 years of service. On Oct. 5th, 1946, Dad married Mom, Doris Lorraine Stuyvesant in Lake Geneva where both their children, Peggy and Becky were born. Dad loved to golf, fish and hunt, play cards, tell jokes and drop a dollar or two at Ho-Chunk every now and then. But his favorite was to spend time with his family. He was forever the handyman who could fix almost anything. Dad had a great sense of humor and a love of ice cream and candy! On June 16, 2004, Dad lost a part of his heart when Mom passed away. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Bob, Tom, Louise, Dick, Joan and Jean; as well as other relatives. Dad is survived by his daughters, Peggy (John) Hobbs of Fitchburg, and Becky (Dave) Braucht of Middleton, and their three children, Jason (Sonja) Braucht, children Annaliese, Ethan and Dylan, Joshua (Katie) Braucht, children, Jackson (Little Jack) and Audrey, and Lacey (Greg) Smith, children, Carter and a baby boy due in November. He is further survived by a very dear friend, Gert Holmes and his sister, Betty Bartelson of Lake Geneva, Wis.; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. According to Dad's wishes, there will be no funeral services. Dad respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to Attic Angel Employee Appreciation Fund, Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center, Agrace HospiceCare, or The Dane County Humane Society. Our family wishes to thank HospiceCare for the excellent care they gave Dad and us during his final journey. We are especially grateful to the nurses, CNA's and other staff at Attic Angel for the friendship, love and care they gave Dad over many years. Thank you to Dr. Barbara Stowe-Carpenter, Peggy and Teresa, as well as everyone whose path we crossed at UW Hospital and Clinics. "Just another bump in the Road of Life, No Regrets."
