Sophy Shashkevich

Sophy, you were so full of such loveable sass and a fierce smile! I always enjoyed my visits with you and the new treats you had me try. May you rest in peace. ~a former homecare CNA

Sophy donated a number of items to the Wisconsin Historical Society in 1982. Many of them were small lace textiles that belonged to her mother or grandmother; others were clothes worn by Sophy herself. If anyone knows Sophy's life story and would like to share it with the Wisconsin Historical Society, please contact me at leslie.bellais@wisconsinhistory.org. I know that she was born in Yugoslavia and that her father was an admiral in the royal navy, but nothing else.
