Douglas Edward Beyer,

Beyer, Douglas E. STOUGHTON-Douglas E. Beyer, age 70, of Stoughton, passed away unexpectedly, on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Stoughton Hospital. He was born on March 11, 1945, in Norfolk, Neb., the son of Louis and Arlene Beyer. He married Linda L. Pingel on Sept. 23, 1969, in Fallon, Nev. Doug played college football at Dakota Wesleyan, SD. He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran. Doug loved taking his wife on spur-of-the- moment road trips. He loved all sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Packers and Badgers. Doug was a former employee of the USDA. Most of all, he was always there as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who would make any sacrifice on behalf of his family. Doug is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Brian (Crystal) Beyer; daughter, Melissa (Luke Campion) Beyer; six grandchildren, Branden, Aubrey, Zachary, Mackenzie, Isaac and Hannah; father, Louis Beyer; brother, Lee (Terry) Beyer; and sister, Shelly (Victor) Nobert. He was preceded in death by his mother. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy. 51 at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.
